In 1994, the movie I.Q. came out. In it, a hapless mechanic falls in love with a PhD student, who in turn spurs his affections due to his lack of intelligence. He travels to her house to return a watch she had left at the garage, and who does he run into at her door? Albert Einstein, who happens to be this young belle’s uncle. Understanding, and often pontificating about, the value of love, Einstein (joined by Kurt Gödel and other famous physicists) gets himself into wacky hijinks trying to just get these two kids together. Awwww.
12 years later, in 2006, The Hebrew Institute released 3500 pages of correspondence Einstein had kept in his life. Included in the findings from these letters was that Einstein was, above all else, a complete horndog. His first marriage ended due to infidelity, he kept six mistresses, he would often brag about the attention he got from women, and he even used his stepdaughter to deliver letters to a particular Russian number he had his eye on.
The question is: Knowing what we know now, and keeping it in mind, how much better of a movie is I.Q.?
